Your Input Needed: What’s Something Cool You Don’t Understand about Space, Astronomy, or Astrophysics?

I want to enter this contest, which means I have to think up something interesting about astronomy or astrophysics to write a nontechnical article about. I have a couple ideas based on current research that’s being done, but I thought I’d check whether anyone who reads this (and I know there are a lot more of you than the one who are usually willing to comment… you shy folk, you!) might have a thought.

So, what do you think? Is there something out there in the inky blackness of space that has always made you go “Man, that seems so cool. I just wish I understood what it was really about”? I’d love to know. And if you’re lucky, maybe I will even end up trying to explain it!
